On Wednesday 20th November, Year 3 were treated to a fantastic visitor - Adrian Warrell (The History Man) - who brought the Ancient Greek era to the classroom. The children learnt how the Greeks would fight and even kill for their food as not much grew on their mountainous land. They also learnt that Spartan boys, aged seven, said goodbye to their parents and were sent to army school where only the toughest and fiercest soldiers survived. They had an opportunity to live like Greeks and they did corn-grinding, weaving, name scratching (using Greek letters) to vote for a new king, dressing up and fishing. What a great day!
