Terra Nova School’s students participate in city wide ‘Shelter’ charity Open Day

Year 7 visited Shelter – the housing and homelessness charity in Manchester. It was a city wide Open Day with the aim of raising awareness of the vital work Shelter carries out and why their services are so important in today’s climate. Our Year 7 students helped to run the pop up shop and participated in a DIY Skills workshop, amongst other things. The children brought many ideas about how to raise money from the charity with entrepreneurial endeavours back to school and Year 7 are working on how to develop these in their weekly enrichment lessons and are now looking at how they can support Shelter over the course of the forthcoming year.
